As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, Kyle Vanderburg and NoteForge are taking steps to minimize our environmental impact. Effective August 1, 2010, we will be attempting to implement the following measures:
- Improving general workflow by utilizing project management applications such as the Collabtive cloud-based groupware and the Vanderburg Project Engine.
- A reliance on electronic mail for the bulk of correspondence and billing (both for personal finance of Kyle Vanderburg and the business finance of NoteForge.)
- Reducing the need to print material by extensively using PDFs and eReader solutions such as the Barnes & Noble Nook.
- Using cleaner power sources such as wind-generated energy and minimizing power consumption during peak energy usage.
While it is impossible for a composer and a music PUBLISHING company to attempt to go paperless, it is within our capabilities to greatly reduce the nonessential paper waste produced by academic, personal, and professional endeavors.
