Roaming in Thought Receives United Kingdom Performances Through Vox Novus' Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame
Posted on 2026-08-07 22:44:00 by Kyle and tagged with AnnouncementsThe little piece I wrote for Vox Novus' Fifteen Minutes of Fame, Roaming in Thought, was performed in two concerts in England last month. Baritone Andrew White performed the whole recent set of FMOF in Oxford and Mere along with some other, lengthier works.
The Oxford concert included the world premiere of Kirsten Johnson's song cycle Rivers to the Sea, while the Mere performance presented the collection as part of a program highlighting contemporary vocal music.
Roaming in Thought is scored for voice and electronics with text by Walt Whitman. It's the shortest Whitman poem I could find, and includes good and evil, because of course it does. Walt never took a break.
