Program Note
In Greek mythology, Arcadia was the home of the god Pan, the god of the wild, shepherds and flocks, nature of mountain wilds, hunting and rustic music, and companion of the nymphs. In European Renaissance art, Arcadia was celebrated as an unspoiled, harmonious wilderness. Daydreams of Arcadia takes the listener on a journey through this pastoral landscape, reminiscing through simpler times and utopian desires.
