About

Wind players have reed problems, brass players can crack notes, string players can break strings, but pianists playing a properly tuned instrument have less control of the resulting sound and have come to expect a piano to make a sound like a piano. Nocturne for Prepared Piano (and unprepared pianist) plays with these expectations. Based on Chopin's Nocturne in E minor, Op. posth. 72, this Nocturne surprises and depresses the pianist, until they discover the fun sounds that a prepared piano can create.
